In order to assist users in improving the inherent safety level of enterprises, consolidate the safety foundation of hazardous chemical production, and effectively prevent and resolve major safety risks, on the afternoon of September 11, 2023, Sun Qiuju, deputy manager of the process department of Hebei Huafei Engineering Design Co., Ltd., carried out publicity and implementation to professional designers of our company's general plan, process, equipment, electrical, instrumentation, piping, fire protection, structure, etc. at Luoyang Branch with the theme of "Intrinsically safe design, design diagnosis, risk prevention and control".


The publicity and implementation content revolves around the following four aspects: 1. National standard systematization and intrinsically safe design; 2. Key analysis of building fire protection code GB55037; 3. Risk prevention and control guide for hazardous chemical construction projects [2022] No. 52; 4. Risk prevention and control of engineering design from the perspective of design diagnosis.

Intrinsically safe design is to use minimization, substitution, mitigation, simplification and other means in the design process to make the process and its facilities have the inherent characteristics of fundamentally preventing accidents. In the engineering design stage, "intrinsically safer" focuses more on equipment specifications, instrument design, pipeline and equipment installation and layout, etc.

The key contents of the safety design diagnosis of hazardous chemicals are: 1. The fire protection distance of each building in the general plan; 2. Safety discharge, "six preventions", spot check site and drawing consistency in process design; 3. Equipment layout and roads in the device; 4. Static equipment drawings and calculation books, storage tanks and safety accessories; 5. Explosion-proof area division, spot check of electrical equipment, etc. In addition, there are contents related to safety, fire protection, instrumentation, construction, etc.

At the meeting, through learning and communication, designers of various majors have a clearer understanding of the spirit and connotation of risk prevention and control of their professional design, typical common problems of safety design diagnosis, etc. In the future, we will apply the strengthening of intrinsic safety design and safety design diagnosis tasks to every design work with a more rigorous, professional and serious attitude.
