The 3rd Academic Forum on Regional Characteristic Architecture was successfully held in Nanning, Guangxi
On May 31st, the third Regional Characteristic Architecture Academic Forum with the theme of "Reshaping Regional Value" was successfully held in Nanning, Guangxi.
This forum is hosted by the Traditional Architecture Branch of the China Survey and Design Association and the Guangxi Survey and Design Association, and organized by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Urban and Rural Planning and Design Institute. National engineering survey and design masters, provincial engineering survey and design masters, and senior experts are invited to share and exchange experiences. Nearly 400 representatives of survey and design industry associations, industry practitioners, and students from universities from various regions participated in the forum. The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Qin Yanna, Secretary of the Party Branch, Vice Chairman, and Secretary General of Guangxi Survey and Design Association.
Chen Yongqian, Director of the Survey and Design Management Department of the Guangxi Housing and Urban Rural Development Department, Wang Yi, Deputy Secretary General of the China Survey and Design Association, Gao Song, Vice President of the Traditional Architecture Branch of the China Survey and Design Association, Zhong Yi, Chairman of the Guangxi Survey and Design Association, Deputy General Manager of Hualan Group, and Executive Director of Hualan Design (Group) Co., Ltd., and Xiao Huili, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Urban and Rural Planning and Design Institute, delivered speeches respectively, congratulating the successful convening of the forum. They hoped that through the forum, we could discuss the unique charm of China's regional architecture and ethnic characteristic architecture in the context of the new era, deeply explore the importance of regional characteristic architecture, explore and reshape the value of regional architecture, jointly promote the protection and development of regional culture, and help the high-quality development of the architectural design industry.
This forum focuses on exploring hot topics such as how to excavate regional culture in architectural creation, how to correctly understand and grasp regional characteristics, how to break homogenization in the renovation of historical districts, and dialectical thinking about the protection of historical buildings. On the forum, national engineering survey and design masters, provincial engineering survey and design masters, and senior experts had wonderful sharing and exchanges: Zhang Lingling, national engineering survey and design master, deputy secretary-general of the Chinese Architectural Society, and executive vice president of the World Chinese Architects Association, shared "Red - Regional Value and Identity of Architecture".

This forum is the first academic forum held by the Traditional Architecture Branch of the China Survey and Design Association in Nanning, which has a pioneering role and significant importance for the cooperation between the Traditional Architecture Branch and the architecture field in Guangxi.
