Focusing on Green and Low Carbon Empowered Digital Design - Zhejiang Province HVAC Technology Exchange Conference Successfully Held

The "Focusing on Green and Low Carbon, Empowering Digital Design" HVAC Technology Exchange Conference, hosted by the Zhejiang Survey and Design Industry Association, co organized by the Building Environment and Equipment Professional Committee of the Zhejiang Survey and Design Industry Association, the Building Energy Conservation and Low Carbon Branch of the Zhejiang Survey and Design Industry Association, and organized by Guanglianda Technology Co., Ltd., was successfully held in Hangzhou on the afternoon of August 17th. More than 120 students and expert representatives attended the conference.

Jiao Jian, Secretary General of Zhejiang Survey and Design Industry Association, delivered the opening speech. He pointed out that the "14th Five Year Plan" for industry development has put forward the implementation of the building policy of "applicability, economy, green, and beauty", and the dual carbon goal has become a new direction for green and low-carbon development in the industry. This has put forward higher requirements for design institutes to fully play the leading role of design as the soul of engineering construction, transform their roles, continuously improve the design ability of green and low-carbon planning through intelligent and digital means, innovate and create excellence, and promote the high-quality development of the survey and design industry. Zhejiang Province has been continuously exploring and innovating in promoting green and low-carbon actions in the construction industry, and has also created a number of ultra-low energy consumption and near zero energy consumption demonstration projects. The Provincial Survey Association vigorously promotes the guidance, implementation, and application of green and energy-saving design in the survey and design industry, focusing on the central work of national development strategy and housing and urban-rural construction. I hope to learn new standards, understand new requirements, absorb new technologies, and accumulate new abilities through this sharing and exchange, and jointly contribute to the digital transformation of the design industry.

This public welfare technology exchange activity has arranged policy interpretation, technology exchange, industry academic reports, and is full of practical knowledge throughout the process.

Ding De, the President of the Building Energy Efficiency and Low Carbon Branch of the Zhejiang Survey and Design Industry Association and the Technical Director of Zhejiang University Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., presented a report on the calculation of building carbon emissions in Zhejiang Province. The report focuses on the background of carbon peak and the meaning of carbon emissions, including the calculation methods for building carbon emissions and HVAC carbon emissions.

Ma Jun, a green building expert from Zhejiang Architectural Design and Research Institute, gave a report on the development of green buildings under the dual carbon background. The report focused on the five major actions to peak carbon emissions in the construction industry in Zhejiang Province, including the improvement of green and low-carbon standards for new buildings. It deeply analyzed the design and evaluation standards for green and low-carbon buildings, and shared case studies of ultra-low energy consumption and near zero energy consumption projects in Zhejiang with the students present.

Liu Baobin, Deputy General Manager of the Mechanical and Electrical Products Department of Guanglianda Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a report titled "Integrated Design Analysis Helps Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction in HVAC Systems". As an enabler of digital transformation in the construction industry, Guanglianda enhances the value of the entire design process through data-driven integrated design. The integration of design analysis improves the quality and efficiency of design and construction drawings, and contributes to energy conservation and carbon reduction.

Zhao Yang, a doctoral supervisor at Zhejiang University, a specially appointed expert in Zhejiang Province, and a researcher of the Hundred Talents Program, gave a report on the preliminary exploration of the application of ChatGPT like big language models in the HVAC field. Dr. Zhao explained the definition and development history of GPT, focusing on the preliminary attempts of building load forecasting based on GPT assistance and fault diagnosis of air handling units based on GPT. The entire process was vivid and interesting.

 

Finally, Zhu Facheng, Deputy General Manager of Guanglianda Technology Co., Ltd. Zhejiang Branch, made a speech. He said that the "14th Five Year Plan" for the development of the engineering survey and design industry mentioned deepening cooperation in scientific and technological innovation, supporting survey and design enterprises, research institutions, universities, manufacturers, and other joint scientific research and development tasks. The experts who shared today come from the above-mentioned fields, bringing everyone a feast. Faced with new developments, policies, requirements, and technologies, Guanglianda will continue to open up awareness, maintain a sense of crisis, embrace new technologies, and promote high-quality development of the HVAC industry together with representatives of HVAC industry experts.
