Sinopec Natural Gas Branch will supply 21 billion cubic meters of gas during the heating season of 2023-2024
On March 20th, a reporter from China Chemical News learned from Sinopec Natural Gas Branch that from November 1, 2023 to March 15, 2024, the company has supplied over 21 billion cubic meters of natural gas to the market, a year-on-year increase of 11.8%. The maximum daily gas supply reached 209 million cubic meters, and the maximum daily gas production of the gas storage tank was nearly 32 million cubic meters, both reaching historical highs, thus helping thousands of households successfully cope with multiple extreme cold wave weather events and providing a "petrochemical warmth" for the heating season of 2023-2024.

The natural gas subsidiary coordinates resources from multiple sources to ensure strong supply. The company closely communicates with upstream gas fields, resource suppliers, and downstream users to strengthen the precise connection between production and sales; Reasonably allocate the shipping schedule plan, and on the basis of sufficient resources for unloading long contracts, purchase 4 additional ships of spot resources to ensure supply. According to the principle of "storing as much as possible", before winter, 9 gas storage facilities including Wen 96, Jintan, and Wen 23 have formed an effective working gas volume of over 2.5 billion cubic meters. The cumulative gas production during the heating season is 2.35 billion cubic meters, an increase of 28.4%, providing strong resource guarantees for stable gas supply during the heating season.
Faced with multiple extreme cold waves during the winter and spring supply guarantee seasons, the natural gas branch optimized the supply guarantee plan based on actual conditions, accurately calculated gas demand, and prioritized the allocation of resources to areas with high population density, high gas consumption for people's livelihoods, and heavy peak shaving tasks. During the heating season, nearly 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas were supplied to northern regions, with a daily supply of 209 million cubic meters, breaking historical records. They have solidly carried out integrated direct supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and have supplied over 400000 tons of LNG resources directly to 230 gas stations in 16 provinces and cities. At the same time, they have reasonably allocated natural gas resources and made every effort to ensure the gas demand of fertilizer production enterprises in key areas. This year, they have supplied more than 200 million cubic meters of gas to fertilizer production enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%, and helped agricultural spring plowing production in Henan, Sichuan, Chongqing and other places.

The company also fully utilizes its storage and transportation facilities, and the Tianjin LNG receiving station and Qingdao LNG receiving station have successively carried out "dual ship dual berth" operations during the heating season, significantly improving the efficiency of unloading. Before this year's heating season, new storage tanks were put into use at Tianjin LNG receiving station and Qingdao LNG receiving station, with a total storage capacity of 1.33 million tons and a daily average of over 50 million cubic meters of gasified and exported natural gas.
In addition, the company strictly implements its main responsibility for safety production, carefully formulates production and operation plans, increases the frequency of inspections of key equipment and facilities, and ensures the safe and stable supply of natural gas resources during winter production.
