The 300000 ton green hydrogen ammonia project of Yuanjing Energy has been put into operation
Recently, it was learned from Yuanjing Technology Group that its subsidiary Yuanjing Energy has successfully put into operation the first phase of the world's largest green hydrogen ammonia project with an annual output of 1.5 million tons in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia. The first tank of liquid ammonia produced uses 100% green electricity.
According to Zhang Lei, CEO of Far East Energy, Far East is building the world's largest green hydrogen ammonia project through its pioneering zero carbon industrial park model. With technological breakthroughs in new power systems, it has achieved efficient coupling of wind solar energy storage and hydrogen ammonia alcohol production, solving the major cost challenge of zero carbon hydrogen energy development. The first tank of liquid ammonia produced recently used 100% green electricity, which is an important milestone in the global development of green hydrogen energy and enables the large-scale industrialization of "new oil".

The project started construction on October 22, 2023, jointly built by Far East Energy and Chifeng State owned Assets Group. It is the world's largest 1.5 million ton green hydrogen ammonia project built by Far East Energy in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia. It will be constructed in three phases with a total investment of about 40 billion yuan.
According to the reporter's understanding, ammonia is favored as an excellent hydrogen carrier and fuel, as well as for its advantages in producing zero carbon fertilizers. The large-scale green hydrogen projects constructed in Inner Mongolia, China, mainly rely on "green hydrogen synthesis of ammonia" for green hydrogen consumption, accounting for nearly 90%. After nearly two years of development and construction, the green ammonia project in Inner Mongolia has begun to enter production. In January 2023, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Energy Bureau issued a notice to implement 15 integrated wind solar hydrogen production demonstration projects with a total investment of 49.6 billion yuan, including 10 green ammonia projects with a total investment of 39.2 billion yuan. According to the statistics of Sobi Hydrogen Energy Network, as of October 2023, there are a total of 37 10000 ton green hydrogen projects under planning and construction in China, among which Inner Mongolia accounts for 27, and most of them are "green hydrogen synthesis ammonia" projects.
Yuanjing Energy is also actively laying out green hydrogen projects in Inner Mongolia. Large scale green hydrogen projects such as Yuanjing Tongliao Wind Solar Hydrogen Ammonia Alcohol Integration Project (300000 standard cubic meters/hour) and Yuanjing Coal Chemical Coupled Green Hydrogen/Green Alcohol Project (50000 standard cubic meters) are already underway; In addition, an investment of 118 million yuan is being made in Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia to build a wind storage hydrogen integrated chemical plant project with a total production capacity of 1.5 gigawatts, including 1 gigawatt of high-pressure water electrolysis equipment production line and 0.5 gigawatt of low-pressure water electrolysis equipment manufacturing production line.
