The Guangdong Engineering Survey and Design Industry Association successfully held a training course on fire protection design review for construction projects throughout the province
To further strengthen the level of fire protection design review for construction projects in our province, on April 11, 2023, the Guangdong Engineering Survey and Design Industry Association held a provincial training course on fire protection design review for construction projects in Guangzhou. The training course invited Wang Zongcun, an associate researcher at the Tianjin Fire Research Institute of the Ministry of Emergency Management, to give a lecture. About 350 design units and drawing review institutions from various parts of Guangdong Province participated in the training.
Luo Zhencheng, Secretary of the Party Branch of Guangdong Engineering Survey and Design Industry Association and Secretary General of the Construction Drawing Review Branch, mobilized for the opening of the class. Luo Shuji emphasized the importance of fire safety drawing review and introduced the invited expert lecturers. He hoped that the designers and reviewers participating in the training could fully devote themselves to the training and learning in just one day, and strive to improve their professional knowledge and work abilities.
Associate Researcher Wang Zongcun gave a detailed explanation of the "General Code for Building Fire Protection" GB 55037-2022 during the training, comprehensively interpreting the code from five aspects: "basic information, preparation background, preparation process, interpretation of main content, and implementation of the code". He also provided on-site Q&A for students who had practical problems in their work during fire design review.
After the completion of the lecture, many students' enthusiasm for exploring fire technology issues did not diminish. They approached the training instructor to discuss the issues and received positive responses from the instructor. Due to limited time, the technical discussion left students feeling unsatisfied, which fully reflects the persistent pursuit of technology and truth by the fire design and review personnel in Guangdong Province.
Through training, participants have gained a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the difficult issues and mandatory provisions in the review of fire protection design for construction projects, and their professional technical level has been further improved. Next, the Guangdong Engineering Survey and Design Industry Association will provide training and publicity on fire protection design review in conjunction with the release of the "Analysis of Difficult Issues in Fire Protection Design Review of Construction Projects in Guangdong Province".
