The 9th China International Corrosion Control Conference was held in Beijing. The theme of this conference is "Fundamentally and comprehensively controlling the particularity of corrosion engineering from the second stage of corrosion history to the third stage of great turning point, great development, great quality, and great development". The aim is to summarize the achievements and experiences of the construction of a standardized system for the entire life cycle of corrosion control engineering, further promote the application and promotion of theoretical and technological achievements, and take China's corrosion control industry to a new level.
Ren Zhenduo, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the China Corrosion Control Technology Association and Resident Leader of the International (ISO/TC156/SC1) Chinese Expert Group, hopes that the entire industry will actively learn and participate in the theory of the full life cycle research, application, and standardization of corrosion control engineering, promote the second stage of the development of corrosion history into the third stage of facing corrosion, direct corrosion, and fundamentally controlling the particularity of corrosion engineering, and open up a new era, new stage, and new journey in the development of corrosion history, achieving a great turning point, great development, great quality, and great development; Require the association to fulfill the six responsibilities authorized by the state, especially the responsibility of industry self-discipline (industry management), resolutely implement the [2023] No. 81 document issued by the ten ministries and commissions of the country to crack down on counterfeit forums in the industry, investigate, summarize, and rectify the national corrosion control industry, especially the association's named units, in order to adapt to the objective requirements of the development of corrosion history as soon as possible
Ren Zhenduo further pointed out that it is necessary to implement the resolutions of the 7th plenary session of the International Corrosion Control Engineering Life Cycle Standards Committee (ISO/TC156/SC1) and the 4th expanded meeting of the 8th Council of the Association as soon as possible, actively establish the "International Corrosion Museum" as an important innovation base in the field of corrosion, a training ground for corrosion education, summarize and absorb domestic and foreign corrosion control experience and technological wealth, and cultivate professional talents for the corrosion control cause.
Li Yongwu, former president of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, and Liu Pingping, chairman of the Advisory Group of the ISO Corrosion Control Engineering Full Life Cycle Technical Committee, congratulated the convening of the conference. Han Aixing, former deputy director of the Science and Technology Department and Calibration Department of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, believes that the theory of research, application, and standardization of the entire life cycle of corrosion control engineering has transformed the original single and local solution to corrosion problems into a comprehensive control of special corrosion engineering from the root, which can truly achieve effective protection, ineffective alarm, and prevent the occurrence of safety and environmental accidents.
At the meeting, the association commended individuals and units who have made outstanding contributions to the standardization of the entire life cycle of international corrosion control engineering, and awarded 8 Science and Technology Progress Awards, 1 Technology Invention Award, and 6 China Corrosion Control Industry Patent Awards for 2023 to the China Corrosion Control Technology Association.
