The current gas extraction volume of the first gas storage complex in the northwest region has exceeded 600 million cubic meters.

As of January 20th, the first gas storage complex in the northwest region of China - the Wengjisang gas storage complex of China National Petroleum Corporation - has achieved a cumulative gas extraction volume of 600 million cubic meters in this round. The total extraction volume has reached 633 million cubic meters, providing a stable energy guarantee for the heating of people's lives and industrial production in many areas along the West-to-East Gas Transmission Route. 

In recent days, some areas of our country have experienced continuous cold weather, leading to an increase in heating demand. The winter supply of natural gas has entered a critical period. Since the third cycle of gas extraction began on November 14, 2025, as the temperature continued to drop, the gas extraction volume of the Wengishan gas storage complex has steadily increased. The daily gas extraction volume has gradually risen from the initial 4.8 million cubic meters to 6.2 million cubic meters, setting a new record for daily gas extraction volume.

To ensure that "we can extract and supply gas at critical moments", the on-site personnel of the Turpan Oilfield Gas Storage and Utilization Company conducted comprehensive maintenance and testing of the safety instrument system and automatic control system, meticulously inspected potential hazards of key equipment and facilities, repeatedly simulated the gas extraction process, and organized multiple rounds of emergency drills to ensure that the equipment operated stably and the process was safe and smooth in extremely cold weather. 

Relying on the "one main control center, multiple reservoirs in coordination" management model, the Turpan Oilfield Gas Storage Company has established a two-level linkage command system of the control center and the central control rooms of the injection stations. Through the automated control system, it can monitor core parameters such as pressure, flow rate, and temperature in real time. The data visualization large screen enables precise control throughout the process. The technical team has deepened the research on the multi-cycle injection and production patterns, and implemented differentiated gas production plans for different gas reservoir geological characteristics, such as "one reservoir one strategy, one well one method". They dynamically optimize production parameters to ensure safety while maximizing the production capacity of the main wells and achieving dual compliance of gas production intensity and stable operation. 

Next, the Turpan Oilfield Gas Storage Station Company will continue to monitor temperature changes and downstream gas demand, dynamically adjust the gas extraction plan, strengthen safety production management, and build a solid defense line for ensuring gas supply during the winter season.
