Intrinsically Safe Design Seminar
In the current critical period of economic downturn and recovery, safety is the greatest benefit. Based on the principle of "improving ourselves and better serving customers", a special training activity was held in Shijiazhuang, Hebei on October 7, 2023. It was hosted by Gao Dong, deputy general manager of Hebei Huafei Engineering Design Co., Ltd., and technical personnel from the process department and technical quality department participated in this publicity and implementation activity.
Deputy General Manager Gao Dong shared around three themes: the first is the reform of the national standard system and intrinsically safe design, the second is the risk prevention and control of engineering design from the perspective of design diagnosis, and the third is the quantitative risk analysis of building explosion risk analysis design. The first theme outline mainly introduces the relevant laws and regulations on "intrinsically safe design", focusing on the "General Code for Building Fire Protection" and "Guidelines for Risk Prevention and Control of Hazardous Chemical Construction Projects (Trial)" Emergency [2022] No. 52 for key analysis; the second theme starts from engineering cases, introduces the safety design diagnosis work mode, engineering design and risk prevention and control of hazardous chemical projects, lists the "common diseases, frequently occurring diseases and difficult and complicated diseases" in process systems, pipeline design, equipment installation and material selection design, and then analyzes the design problems from the source, so that everyone can work together to "correct them if there are any, and encourage them if there are none"; the third theme is based on the explosion risk analysis of buildings. First, it introduces the requirements for explosion-proof design in national standards, then clarifies the steps for determining explosion-proof buildings, and finally shares the methods for explosion risk analysis of buildings.
Through interaction and communication, this publicity and implementation activity solved the problems encountered by everyone at work. Through this meeting, everyone deeply realized the ways and management measures of intrinsically safe design, and the concept of "intrinsically safer" is reflected in the recognition process of danger in various professions, the emphasis on design details and the accumulation of experience and lessons. In this regard, every Huafei person has an obligation to adopt design methods such as minimization, substitution, mitigation, and simplification during the design process, so that the process and its facilities have the inherent characteristics to fundamentally prevent accidents.
