Most enterprises are facing considerable survival pressure, and the industry as a whole has entered a critical period of urgent need for capacity adjustment, technological innovation, and market stability. The development of the BDO industry cannot follow the old path of many traditional industries. According to Tang Yi, Secretary of the Wuhai Municipal Party Committee, Wuhai City has fully utilized its resource endowment in recent years to promote the coupled development of multiple industries. At present, there are 5 BDO integrated projects completed or under construction, with a total investment of 56.6 billion yuan and 8 downstream supporting projects. It now has a BDO production capacity of 1 million tons and a GBL production capacity of 100000 tons. In the ongoing project, 600000 tons of BDO, 360000 tons of PTMEG, 300000 tons of PBAT, and 30000 tons of THF will be put into operation next year. Wuhai is making every effort to build four complete industrial chains: BDO spandex, BDO lithium battery solvent, BDO biodegradable materials/engineering plastics, and BDO pharmaceutical intermediates. It is expected to become the world's largest BDO integrated production base by 2027, with an estimated output value of over 100 billion yuan.

Wuhai has innovative resource elements. By relying on independent innovation of enterprises, we currently have the largest domestically integrated coking unit, the world's most advanced acetylene raw material unit, the world's largest single line production capacity BDO unit, and a degradable material unit with short processes, high efficiency, energy conservation and environmental protection, and excellent product quality.
