The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia (ESDM) will implement the B40 biodiesel pilot project this year, which involves adding 40% biofuel based on palm oil to diesel.
The B40 pilot test will be conducted for non-auto industries such as heavy equipment, ships, agricultural machinery and equipment, and trains.
The director of the Bioenergy Division of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Edi Wibowo, stated on Monday (5/2/2024): "We have conducted road tests on B40. This year, we plan to conduct pilot tests outside the automotive industry."
Mr. Wibowo said that the evaluation of the pilot test would take between six and eight months.
